The Dark Knight Lived Up to the Hype

I don’t want to become a movie reviewer, but I just gotta say that “The Dark Knight†was awesome. Rarely do movies have such hype surrounding them. Even before Heath Ledge died, this movie was very highly anticipated. The tragic end of his life only added fuel to this already smoldering fire. I saw it and I was satisfied. For once, a movie lived up to its hype.
So much action! As usual, Christian Bale kicked ass as the caped crusader. This time he was charged with taking out the notorious Joker, played by the late Heath Ledger. He played the hell out of that character… literally. It was almost creepy the way he seemed to delight in performing as the menacing mass murder. The chemistry between the two was unbeatable. Other actors Gary Oldman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Morgan Freeman, Michael Cain, and the very good Aaron Eckhart all kept pace with the two co-stars. What amazes me even more though is the director (Christopher Nolan) and writers (Jonathan and Christopher Nolan) transformation of this once ridiculous movie series. It has done a 180 and all for the better.
If you are one of the 5 or 6 people in the world that haven’t seen it yet, make sure you get to it fast. Not convinced? Watch the trailer.

Definitely one of the best movies i’ve seen in a very long time. Christian Bale is definitely the best Bruce Wayne out of the bunch and Heath Ledger’s performance was absolutely amazing.

FYI to movie goers…We purchased two tickets online for the 9:45 showing Friday night at Rave Motion Pictures. We walked a mile to the place due to Taste of Kalamazoo filling up all of the ramps, only to find out that “no tickets can be found for this card”. The guy at the desk asked us if we printed and brought our confirmation page, and since we didn’t (and all of the showings that night were sold out), we were SOL. I’ve already emailed management to complain, but thought I would share this disappointing turn of events with everyone. Boo to Rave Motion pictures, bad form.

That’s why you always have to print out your confirmation pages-for anything and everything.
